What Are The Important Tips On Strategic Planning?

Every organization tends to develop a strategic plan on regular basis. Most of the organization tend to revise their strategic plans at the end of the year. Though, organizations should be performing this activity whenever they feel that their plans need to be revised and mended. When developing a new strategic plan for the organization, it is kept under consideration that mistakes made previously are not repeated and some unique ways are being incorporated. If your previous plan failed to help you accomplish your goals, make sure that your new plan is very effective. This article aims to offer some important guidelines on how strategic planning can be done. 

In order to create a strategic plan, you should try to find out answers to the three important question:
Where do you stand at the moment? Where are you going? How will you reach the final destination?

For being able to answer the first question, you should have to create a mission statement, identify the values of your organization and conduct SWOT analysis. 

Mission statement:

A mission statement plays a significant part because it helps other know the primary purpose behind the foundation of your organization. Make sure that your mission statement says exactly what you do. There should be no contradiction. 

Values of your organization:

Identify the values that your organization have.

Conduct SWOT analysis:

In order to get a clear understanding of your organization and to know about its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, you can conduct SWOT analysis.
In order to give an answer to the second question, you need to identify your sustainable competitive advantage and vision statement. 

Sustainable competitive advantage:

A sustainable competitive advantage tells about your uniqueness. It tells that how you are better than your competitors or what are the factors that make you better than your competitors. Your sustainable competitive advantage should signify what you can do best, how you are different from others, what it is that your organization can perform better than others. 

Vision statement:

A vision statement tells what your organization intends to achieve or what it wants to become in the future. 

In order to answer the third question, you will need strategic objectives, short-term goals and action plans.
